Hack my syllabus!


George Veletsianos has come up with a very cool idea.  Using digressit, a plugin for WordPress that lets you comment on text sentence by sentence, he has offered up his tentative spring syllabus on online learning in the participatory age by creating Hack My Syllabus! Veletisianos has tentatively mapped out his weekly topics and readings, and left it open for students to comment on.  What a great example of participatory learning!  It looks like a very cool course, as well.

    I LOVE this idea, Lisa, and am now looking into digress.it for possible uses in my own courses. For years I’ve considered having students help me build a course. This might be a great start for the first week activity–to have students look at, critique, and actually change/contribute to a course syllabus. Of course this means some possible changes mid-stream, but could provide some excellent additional resources and help individualize instruction even more.
